Secretariat’s Meadow – The Land, The Family, The Legend

Innkeeper

Innkeeper is one of the last remaining sons of Secretariat.  Born in 1988, this beautiful bay was sold as a yearling at the famous Keeneland Select sale in Kentucky for 1.25 million dollars. He was only lightly raced. As a two year old, he beat future Kentucky Derby winner, Strike the Gold. From his small racing crops he had quite a few winners and at one point had a national ranking as a second crop sire. This versatile stallion also found success as a show hunter, event horse and in the dressage ring. Today he stands at stud at Virginia Tech’s Middleburg Agricultural Research and Extension (MARE) Center in Middleburg, VA. Innkeeper is one of only a handful of Thoroughbred stallions approved for breeding for sport horse registries.
